Killer Piñata: REVIEW
Written by VHS
A birthday game where adults arm a child with a blunt object and blindfold them so that they can blindly swing at a Piñata in hopes of getting the sweet treats that wait inside of it. When all is said done everyone is happy, everyone but the Piñata who now lays destroyed while having its insides ripped out by screaming children to the laughter of their proud family. It’s harmless fun unless Aunt Sue gets smashed in the face trying to get that perfect picture, or if the Piñata was alive. Such is the case in Stephen Tramontana’s “Killer Piñata”. A fun horror comedy that checks all the boxes and is a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Joette Waters as the hook handed Shopkeeper stole the show for me. She’s the Dr. Loomis in the story and she plays the part great.
“Killer Piñata” is full of fun kills, characters, and even a possession. It’s not family friendly which I appreciate given that the film is about a Piñata. If you like movies that are off the rails, you’ll like this one. It will make you laugh and doesn’t shy away from the violence.
